July 18

It's actually 8:30 Thursday evening and I'm at the church finishing Sunday morning.  I just returned from Belton Honnea Path High School and speaking to over 300 athletes.  I shared my testimony and talked about how we should never place anyone or anything before our walk with Christ.  I know I made that mistake, allowing football to become my God.

As I finish up Sunday I'm excited about what God has in store for us.  The staff and I have worked hard this week in planning a service that is Christ centered, creative and will communicate the gospel.  Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Some random thoughts from the day:

1.  I gotta get back on my diet.  I lost over 25 pounds since January.  Competed in a triathlon and really started lifting hard again.  During the past two weeks I gained seven pounds back.  Work so hard to get rid of weight and take a couple weeks off and BAM it starts coming back.  Doesn't seem fair.  I want to eat as much as I want and look the same as I did when I was 22.

2.  It's raining outside and I have no doors or windows on my jeep.  Gonna get wet going home.  But we sure do need the rain.

3.  VBS next week is gonna rock.  The church looks great.  Thanks Michelle and Shannon for all the hard work.  I believe we'll see some great dividends for the kingdom.

4.  Our web-site still isn't where I want to see it.  Going to attack it really hard after VBS.

5.  Time with God this morning rocked.  Read and prayed for close to two hours.  I love hanging out with God.

6.  As I was praying in our auditorium I realized once again just how much I love our theater.  It is so cool.
What a great place for unchurched people to come and not feel intimidated.

7.  Spoke to my 89 year old Grandma in Walla Walla Washington.  Wish she wasn't 3,000 miles away.  Sure do love and miss her.  Reminds me of my Dad when I speak to her.

8.  Going to Newspring this Sunday night to listen to Gary Lamb.  A new pastor friend in Georgia.  Having dinner after wards and talking about our churches.  He meets in a theater also.

9.  Getting really excited about our "I screwed up" series.  It's going to be awesome!

10.  Going to the lake Saturday!

Hope everyone has a great evening.
