December 3, Thoughts on Sunday

Have you ever stood before a roomful of people and taught the Bible for over 30 minutes, with your zipper down?  I'm not talking down just a little but all the way down?  I have!  It happened yesterday.  I had put my microphone on prior to the service and didn't get the zipper all the way up and it worked it's way down from the start.  Tim told me while I was praying during the invitation.  I looked and sure enough it was down.  I asked how many had noticed it and over 80% had.  Told them they were a bunch of perverts and we all had a good laugh.  Despite my ignorance and desire to show my whitey tighties, God did some incredible things yesterday.  I felt as if we had two of our best services.  God was all over the place.  Here are just some of the comments on the connect cards:

* My heart was not only blessed, my soul was filled.
* I thank God every day for leading us to 5 Point.
* Today's message was for me.  It was great, made me realize how much time I spend on myself and not others.
* Worship was awesome today.

There are more but I think you get the idea.  We had numerous visitors and all of them had encouraging remarks and assured us they would be back.  I believe we might just have a revolution starting.  Worked the majority of today on this Sunday morning and next Sunday.  To be totally honest, I am jacked up about what God is doing at 5 Point.  Continue to invite your family and friends.

Don't forget to be praying about what you and your family can give on December 23rd.  Praying God will give us our biggest offering ever.  We'll be giving 100% of it away to local ministries and charities.  Remember, Christmas is a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus, not just family and presents.   We'll also only be having one service on December 23rd beginning at 10:30 am.  It'll be crowded so come early to get a good seat.

I thought the 50 plus group was going to Mutts yesterday and the Herman clan planned on hanging out with them for lunch.  So obviously Deb didn't prepare any lunch.  That isn't until next week so we all headed to Liberty for some grub.  Once we got home we put our Christmas tree up and got ready for our home team.  Had a blast with our group.  I love getting to know new people and hearing their stories.  If you're not involved in a home team you truly are missing out.

Since college football has been on everyone's mind, starting tomorrow I"ll begin a new series of blogs entitled, "What I learned on the field."  God never ceases to amaze me how HE IS EVERYWHERE-including the grid iron.  I hope to share some valuable lessons through my experiences.

Clemson is heading to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and will be playing the Auburn.  I guarantee you, the Tigers WILL WIN!  I already have my tickets!
