December 10, Thoughts about Sunday

I was excited about what God did in both services yesterday.  Tim and the band did awesome as usual and I felt God's presence moving among us.  Liz did a great job with her Christmas solo.  I love worshiping with our band.  Great job guys.  Personally, watching the video of Jesus as we sang Glorious One got me fired up.

We discussed loving our neighbors.  Never an easy topic because all of us have people in our lives that aren't real lovable.  But God worked me over last week while preparing.  Am I truly seeking opportunities to serve my neighbors? Not feeling it! God laid on my heart to leave the church today at 2:00 and head across the tracks to talk with our neighbors.  I have no idea the response I'll receive but I'm going.  I believe for us to reach deep into our community, we've got to get deep into the community.  I'm excited that several people are meeting me who have a burden for others also.  Looking forward to seeing what happens.

Don't forget we'll be having one service on the 23rd beginning at 10:30 am.  It'll be crowded so get here early.  We'll be giving the entire offering away.  Praying for God to give us the largest offering in the history of 5 Point.

*  Really enjoyed eating at Mutts with a bunch of people after worship yesterday.  It was great.
*  After Mutts headed to the Walker golf course in Clemson.  A friend has been helping me with my swing.  I
want to get my handicap down to a 5 or 6.  Weather was awesome.
*  Went to down town Greenville last night with the Middleton's and Winkler's.  Had a blast.  Very pretty.
*  Can you believe this weather.  Supposed to be 76 Tuesday.  I'm wanting snow, not a sun burn.
*  Me and the boys went to Outback Friday night.  Deb was out of town so we had a boys night out.
*  Ran 28 minutes this morning after working out.  I could tell I was carrying a couple of extra pounds.
*  Praying for God to do something incredible this Sunday as we conclude reVOLution.
*  Just 20 minutes before I leave to go across the tracks.
*  I love Christmas, but hate shopping.  Glad Deb does all our shopping.  She wants dishes, easy enough.
*  Have a goal of being below 270 at this time next year.
*  Want to compete in 5 triathlons on 2008.
*  Jacob needs glasses.  I'm telling you the kid is Dean Jr.  Bless him!
*  The family has decided to stay home and watch the Peach Bowl.  Gave our tickets away.  Saving the money for
summer vacation.  Probably regret the decision later.
