January 3 - Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone. 2007 is gone and 2008 has already begun. My hope for you and your family is that you get in the center of God's Will and stay there the entire year. Many ask how can we find God's Will? You can begin by reading and praying EVERY day. I'm amazed at how many people who claim to love the creator of the universe, the creator of me and you, our KING never read the Bible. Start this year by hanging out with God, getting to know him in a very real way. The best way to do this is through the Word and prayer.
It has been an awesome week. I spent Monday and Tuesday at home. Never came to the church once. (The reason for not blogging. I don't have internet at home.) I worked on Sunday morning from my Lazy boy. Wednesday morning I answered e-mails, worked on Sunday and got ready for Wednesday evening. Tim and I went to Church Hill, Tennessee to lead a youth rally. It was cold, in the single digits. We saw a bunch of snow and had a blast. God did some really cool stuff during the worship service.
Thursday morning we headed back to South Carolina. I did manage to pick up a guy from Germany hitch hiking across America in Ashville. Shared the gospel and....... to hear the results you'll have to be here Sunday. Worked on Sunday the rest of today.
Really excited about Sunday. I believe God is going to do something special for our first Sunday of the year.
Random Thoughts:
* glad we got so much rain.
* thought both services rocked on Sunday.
* so proud of 5 Point and what God is doing here
* love being your pastor
* pray with me that the year 2008 is a God year
* went fishing Tuesday for 6 hours. It was cold and we never caught a thing!
* Jacob found two puppies and we still have them. Hudson and he love them. Guess they're here to stay.
* While in Tennessee ate dinner with an old High School buddy and his wife. It was awesome! They actually
attend the church I spoke at.
* It is time to get serious about working out and dieting. Looking forward to seeing 280 and below for the
first time in a LONG TIME!
* having dinner with a potential tech guy tomorrow night. I think he could be the one.
* went to New spring last Sunday night. It was great going to church and just worshiping.
* as much as I love the Christmas season, glad it's over. Excited about new year.
* Clemson lost their bowl game in over time. That stinks. Perry Noble was on the side lines during the game.
Guess when you pastor a church of 9,000 you can do that. Regardless, if you never played at Clemson,
especially on the 81 Championship team.
* speaking to 300 - 400 High School wrestlers this Saturday morning. Praying for God to change lives.
* gotta go. Headed to the gym to swim, ride the bike and lift weights.
