January 7, Thoughts on Sunday
Praying the past couple of weeks I've been asking God to make the year 2008 the year that 5 Point explodes. The year that we look back decades from now and remember it as THE YEAR! I believe we're finally getting the right people into leadership positions. I believe we're getting close to being prepared to handle the people God has in store for us. I also believe our people are beginning to see the importance of bringing lost souls to Christ
In my humble opinion, yesterday was two of the best services we've had at 5 Point. I believe this for several reasons. First, worship was awesome. Tim and the band continue to get better and better. Second, people we're hanging onto every word during the message. Why? Because we've all had doubts in our life. It hit people right where they were. Thirdly, because God changed lives once again. The past three weeks we've seen salvations. I am so jacked up about that. Good worship, good word and changed lives. That is why we exist.
Let me share with you some areas that need your prayers:
1. Hiring of more staff. Ask God to give me wisdom and to hire the right people.
2. Land. We gotta nail down the piece of land God has appointed for us. We've looked at so many pieces with such a variety of prices. Looking for HIS will again. As my friend and mentor Perry Noble said, "buy land fast and build very slow." We're still looking for that land.
3. Fasting this week. I'm asking that you pray for God to speak to me in a very real way as I fast and pray this week. Asking God to be very real about vision, sermon series, leadership and me personally.
4. For life change every week.
5. Our staff. Tim, Lawson and Michelle.
6. Home teams. We had 25% of the church in a home team last night. That has got to increase.
7. Closing the back door. We are steadily growing. But, we'd be exploding if everyone that came a few Sundays continued coming. People quit coming and we never know why. I know have some disagreed with our vision. They needed to leave. If they weren't causing trouble they soon would be. I'm talking about those who seemed to love 5 Point and then just vanished.
8. 5 Point Fellowship. In any way you see fit. Prayer is awesome and yet so many Christians never experience it's power!
