May 1, Vision part 2
Let's pick up right where we left off yesterday talking about Vision.
Our biggest opportunity right now to impact people is with our Sunday morning worship service. How do we get people into 5 Point. We have a very simple process which involves our people. Invite and Invest. This is not original with me, but I like it. Our people invite their unchurched friends and family and invest time into their lives.
Prime example. Curtis and Karen Middleton invited a coach and his wife form Liberty High this past Sunday. They also invited them over for lunch after wards. They invited and invested. On Monday the coach called and told me how much they loved it and want to get involved at 5 Point. Thats what I'm talking about. Curtis has a great relationship with this coach because Curtis is the head coach.
You have people in your life that you can invite and invest that'll I'll never meet or see without your help. Think about the countless number of family and friends you have that are unchurched. A simple invite goes a long way.
We haven't done a lot of advertising besides word of mouth. Your mouth include.
Wasn't sure about writing this but I need all who will to pray with me. My heart yearns for 5 Point to meet one day in the Lowes building here in Easley. Every time I drive by I pray. While inside I lay hands on whatever. The employees probably think I'm trying to shoplift. I'm asking God for a God sized miracle. According to Pickens County the building and land is worth 8 million. To me that is untouchable, but to God that is nothing.
Why Lowes, because it fits the vision perfectly. I don't want to just grow numbers. The vision God has set in my heart is to change Pickens County. We could have an awesome worship area along with offices, children and youth ministries, after school and homework help for parents, marriage counseling, porn addiction, drug rehab and more. All of this could fit into the existing building along with a skate board park and go carts.
What other churches are trying to change Pickens County? Why not us? Pray with me that God will pave the way for us to obtain this building.
Some random thoughts:
* The music video Sunday will be good. Very time consuming but effective.
* Met with a man yesterday about coming on part time. This could be BIG!!!!!
* Lawson & Michelle (AND HUD MAN) are living with us right now for a few more days until they can move into
their new home. Havea nine day transition period.
* I did it. I bought another boat. A 22 foot deck boat. It is awesome! Picture later.
* Sold Sting Ray last night. I only paid $2,000 difference. Can't wait to start playing this summer.
* Andrew is home from college.
* Deb is helping me speak this Sunday and tore up about it.
* I love what I do.
* Sunday morning is done and it is going to be good. Can't wait to see what God has in store.
* Loving this weather.
* Someone gave me a 30 x 4 1/2 pool along with the deck. GAVE ME. Can you believe that?
* Laying in bed last night after mid night thinking about the future and what God has in store for us.
* Just watched last weeks service. Hate watching myself. I suck as a speaker. Why does anyone come here?
