I had lunch with Pastor Greg Oraham, Pastor of Foothills Community Church located in Seneca, SC.  It was one of the best ministry luncheons I've had.  Greg thinks like I think.  He wants to accomplish some of the same things.  He opened his heart and shared how they've become such an awesome church.  Foothills just celebrated their 10th birthday and they're running around 1,600 in attendance.  That is incredible! 

We discussed in great detail their process of moving people from just attending to getting involved.  To be perfectly honest, I have not done a very good job in this area.  You'll be hearing A LOT MORE about this process in the very near future. 

We also discussed growth.  Since last Sunday one year ago we've grown over 100 people.  That is well over 30% growth.  I get discouraged at times (that patience thing again) but in reality, great things are happening at
5 Point. 

As we were finishing up our 2 1/2 hour conversation Greg asked if Foothills could help in any way.  We plan on spending some time with their staff and learning form a church that is obviously making a difference in the community.

Couple of other thoughts:
* Had an awesome time of prayer with the staff this morning.
* Our creativity meeting rocked.  Sunday is going to be off the charts.  Wish it was Sunday already.
* Have a great attitude about losing weight right now.  Hope it stays!
* Travis has been here the past couple of days.  Going to be a good addition.
* Meeting with a guy in the morning who could very possibly begin helping Tim lead us in worship.
* God seems to be putting a team together that is about ready to make an impact in this community.
* Was supposed to meet with the chief of Police tomorrow at 2:00.  Just canceled.  Meet next week.
* I love pastoring this church!
