July 17, Praise report

The heartbeat and vision of 5 Point Fellowship has always been and will always be to reach unchurched people.  But when you reach out to the unchurched they bring unchurched problems with them.  One of the leading problems are financially based.  In saying that, we operate on a tight budget at 5 Point.  God hasn't missed a beat since day one, but we don't have a lot of play.  I shared that with you to help you understand my thoughts with this blog.

During our staff meeting Monday we discussed the budget and just how tight it is right now.  On Tuesday morning Mike Rowland came by and gave us his tithing check.  Shared with us that it had been is his pocket Sunday and he just forgot about it.  He also shared that he thought about not giving it because he had to pay $1,000 for Dana's dentist bill (from the car accident).  The coolest thing he shared was this statement.  "God just wouldn't let me keep it, I had to bring this by."

I was really impressed that someone would be willing to come by on Tuesday and drop off his tithe and then share that story.  The story gets better.

Mike called me Wednesday and shared that his boss had called and needed a bunch of stuff done before the big boss came into town.  Mike said he would make three times the amount he gave.  IT GETS BETTER!  Mike called me a little while ago and said that someone had given Dana $1,000 to cover the dentist bill!

Before you think that some or all of this is a coincidence read the following scripture with me:

Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

The events in Mike & Dana's financial life this week were not a accident or coincidence, they were the hand of God blessing them for their obedience.  Thank you Mike & Dana for trusting in God completely.  Even more importantly, thank you Father God for ALWAYS coming through as you said you would!

I want to challenge every person who reads this blog to trust  God in everything, not just the area of your salvation.  And when you do, you better be prepared for the floodgates to open!
