July 22, Wal-Mart

Yesterday I asked everyone to begin praying about God giving us the Wal-Mart building and property located in Easley.  Didn't hav time to share all that has happened to make this meeting a reality.

I've spoken the past seven or eight years at a summer camp (Camp Bethel) located in Wise, Virginia.  My family joins me and we stay at Debbie's Mom.  It is a great week and we always look forward to it.  This year I didn't plan on speaking but we wanted to go and see Debbie's Mom.  Two weeks ago I was asked to speak for a team coming to Wise to do a mission trip.  It would consist of speaking Wednesday through Friday evenings instead of the usual all week long.  This is great.  I get to go home and teach young people about Jesus.

Two weeks ago Ann (our secretary) called the owner of the Wal-Mart property.  She spoke to the son.  He let us know that his Father hadn't shown any interest in selling the property to another business but would more than likely be open to talking to a church.  I called last Thursday and left a message.  Didn't hear anything and figured they weren't interested.  He called me Monday and set up an appointment at a Chinese restaurant this Friday in Pikeville, Kentucky.  Wise is only a hour and 1/2 from Pikeville.  So, I leave tomorrow to share the gospel and meet with the owner of what could be our church home one day!

Please pray with me that God will continue to put the pieces of the puzzle together as HE sees fit!  Pray for God to do something GOD sized.

Had lunch today with another local Pastor.  His name is Greg Finley and he pastors My Father House right down the road from us.  I love meeting with pastors, we share the same heart beat and same problems.  Really enjoyed our time together and believe our churches will be doing some stuff together soon!
