August 7, Leadership

I’ve been praying a lot lately about God giving me the leadership skills of Moses.  He led 2 million people around the desert for 40 years before heading into the Promised Land.  That is true leadership.

I want to lead 5 Point to the Promised Land.  I know I’m not leading like Moses when:

• I’m waiting for someone to tell me what to do rather than taking the initiative myself
• I’m taking too much time talking about how things should be different rather making some change
• I blame the context, surroundings, or other people for my current situations
• I choose not to speak the truth in love because I don’t want to offend anyone
• I am more concerned about being cool or accepted than doing the right thing
• I seek popularity, rather than casting vision for the future
• I quit wanting to take any risks
• I start protecting my reputation instead of opening myself up to opposition
• I sleep a little too sound
• Procrastinate to avoid making a tough call
• Talk to others about the problem rather than taking it to the person responsible
• I don't feel like my butt is on the line for anything significant
• Asking for way too many opinions before taking action

God spoke face to face with Moses.  He knew exactly what God wanted from him and the people.  I’m spending more and more time with God so that I’ll know exactly what HE wants from me and our people!  Ready to take some risk with me?
