October 14, Catalyst
Last Thursday & Friday the staff and I were in Atlanta at the Catalyst conference. My opinion, one of the best leadership conferences in America if not the best. I never leave here without learning new leadership ideas.
I wanted to share some of my favorite speakers and their thoughts:
Andy Stanley
One of my favorite speakers in America. I could listen to this guy for hours.
Challenged everyone to live what we speak. He touched on three areas:
1. Forgiveness - there are a lot of bitter leaders
2. Family - must prioritize family and not our job or the church
3. Finances - to lead people financially we must have our finances in order
Dave Ramsey
I know Dave Ramsey is known for his financial expertise but he brought one of the best leadership lessons I have heard in any conference. It was simply incredible. He spoke on the 5 enemies of unity:
1. Poor communication
2. Gossip
3. Unresolved disagreements
4. Lack of shared purpose
5. Sanctioned incompetence
Craig Groeschell
God used Craig in a great way to challenge everyone to keep their focus on the what matters, Jesus Christ.
He talked about losing it (our love and passion for Jesus). He then discussed how to get it back:
1. By asking God to stretch us
2. By asking God to heal us
3. By asking god to ruin us
These were others who brought it but these impacted my life in an awesome way.
