November 19, Getting married
This past Sunday I addressed the question, (among other sexual questions) is living together alright? Numerous people asked the question and I would imagine its because they're living together. Since Sunday I've had several conversations with people about their live in situation. Here are a few of them:
1. On Sunday night (after the marriage improvement) a couple agreed they needed to be married. Don't want to do it in our theater,
but are making plans to get married asap. Good for them.
2. Another couple, who I didn't even know were married, said they need to separate or get married. Hope they follow through.
3. Spoke to a man for a lengthy while yesterday evening about they're situation. Living together, not willing to separate and can't get
married because she hasn't been divorced yet. Basically admitted he couldn't do without the sex.
4. Still have another couple I haven't been able to get a hold of.
Living together is sin, we don't need to rehash this. Willing to do something about it is another matter in itself. Here's the deal, sin is sin. I'm always amazed at how we look at others and ask wonder why they're not willing to do anything about their sin. Instead of putting down others for their sin, why don't we worry about our own sin. Yes living together is sin, but is it any worse than your sin.
The third situation form above is the worse response but the normal one for Christians. I know I'm wrong but I'm not willing to do anything about it. All of us, self included, need to concentrate on how to become as holy as possible. Don't look into the eyes of a Holy God and say, "I can't do without this sin so I'm just going to continue."
I believe we'll see revival in our church & community when we begin to repent of our sin and not the sin of others. Pray with me that God will show us our sin and we'll be willing to do something about it.
