December 1, Thoughts on Sunday
Today has been one of those days. Started at 5:30 by reading and praying. Had a meeting with a missionary form Alaska at 8:00. Read and prayed some more until staff meeting. Worked on Sunday morning until 4:00 in which I had a phone call scheduled with a pastor friend form the North Carolina coast. He gave me some great ideas for a series I'm working on. It is 5:15 and realized I hadn't wrote on my blog.
Thoughts on Sunday:
* Difficult day for me. Brought up old memories from my parents divorce.
* The story about my Dad was 110% true.
* Message was one that many needed to hear.
* Already received feedback on how God spoke to people about their own divorce.
* I was amazed at how many people have been affected by divorce.
* I know God hates divorce but I also know he forgives divorce.
* Worship was good even if Tim wasn't here.
* Tim had a week in Disney World and deserved every minute of it.
* After lunch I did something very spiritual. SLEPT on and off while watching Lord of the Rings part one and two.
* Came to the youth service Sunday evening.
* Dwain did a great job. He has been here all day. Began full time. YES!
* The opening video (from Hope Floats, Dad leaving daughter behind) left people speechless.
* Grant singing the song he wrote while having marital trouble himself was awesome.
* I had to regain my composure before I came back out.
* Paula Cox nailed it on her testimony about the pain and scars of divorce.
Other thoughts
* During staff meeting today we discussed some ideas for the Christmas service. Should be a little different ![]()
* Jesus 4 Dummies is going to be an awesome series. Help people understand some basic truths about Jesus.
* Easter series will be called Messy.
* It is snowing. No way.
* The missionary I had breakfast with is coming to 5 Point January 6th for a mens ministry. Hopefully we can make some plans to
help build a church there this summer.
* Praying for _______ salvations during the month of December. Hoping this series will help people understand their need for a
Savior.
* Fire Proof comes out on DVD January 27th.
* Marriage improvement begins again in January with the Fire Proof curriculum. It is going to rock. The 40 day journal is simply
amazing. Encouraging every married couple to attend.
* Want to dedicate the month of December to Jesus with regards to my body. My goal is to work out all 31 days and to eat incredibly
smart. I plan on enjoying special events, but using my brain.
* Speaking of working out, heading to the gym right now!
