February 9, Thoughts on Sunday
First, let me apologize for not writing since last Wednesday. It has been so busy and I just didn't make blogging a priority. I've already taken a bunch of harassment so I guarantee you I'll write first thing every day.
Thoughts on yesterday morning:
* Started our woman series "Fabulous" and I was nervous because I've never done a series geared at the heart of women.
* Spent a lot of time on preparing this series due to being a little eon edge.
* Thought it went great. A LOT of comments after both services.
* Worship could have been some of the best we've had.
* Leslie Aiken debuted and rocked. Look forward to hearing her sing a lot more. Not bad for a teen ager.
* I love when Jeniffer sings. Such a strong voice. The song Beautiful set up the message perfectly.
* Ladies admitted to placing much too high a priority on outward adornment and not enough on the inner self.
* Life Change continues to take place and I thank God for all he is doing.
* We're going to have a huge baptismal day on March 1st.
* Loved Tim singing Hollywood at end of message. Brought everything together perfectly.
* As a couple was leaving the wife stopped, looked me in the ye and said, "this church has changed our lives and saved
our marriage." That is why I get up every morning.
* The Kid Zone had over 180 again. WOW! Kids running around everywhere. I love it.
* Michelle is here now and back into the swing of things after only two weeks.
* Yesterday was the first time our attendance didn't go up since January. We didn't go down, great crowd but we didn't increase.
* There is a real buzz in the air at 5 Point. Pray with me that God continues to do great things here.
* The stage look unbelievable. The ladies did an incredible job. Little too much pink for me!
* I see more new faces serving every Sunday. That is so exciting. People loving Jesus and wanting to be a part of HIS church.
Some other thoughts:
* The weather is awesome. I love 70 degree days.
* Getting ready to have our Monday staff meeting. Our staff rocks and you need to let them know it. I often get a lot for the credit
for what happens here and the majority of it is done by the staff. Thanks guys for all you do.
* I have really began asking Jesus to show me how to win this city fof Him. Not just grow a great church but reach thousands
of people. Pray for God to speak to me in a very real way. I am actually praying for a spiritual awakening to take place.
Praying for thousands upon thousands of people to be saved and begin serving the King. Pray with me.
* PMS, the man series starts in a month. Its going to be so much fun.
* Were looking into dropping 500,000 easter eggs into Easley this spring. Not sure yet.
* We've begun setting up a Texas Hold Em tournament. No gambling involved. It will be free.
Why are we doing this? To reach people no one else is reaching we must do things no one else is doing.
* Started training for triathlons again. ME and running just don't get along. I am so sore.
* In a time of economic troubles, people continue to give faithfully to God and His Kingdom. Thank you. I'm not worried about the
future because God is in control. He says in His Word to trust Him with our finances. Are you?
* I continue praying, no begging God to show me exactly where He wants us to be on a permanent basis.
* Gotta get started with our staff meeting.
