March 2, Thoughts on Sunday

First thing I did yesterday morning was watch the weather.  Hearing the rain and watching the weather had me believing we would have our most faithful and some family of those being baptized.  I hate seeing such bad weather on a Sunday morning.  As usual, I was wrong again.
What an awesome day for our church:
* We baptized 34 people today.  Unbelievable!  My heart rejoices with the life change taking place.
* The personal videos shown before each baptism was incredible.
* What so many people couldn't see were the tears flowing from the people as they watched themselves on the big screen.
* Closing the service with, "God of this city" and having a bunch of pictures from our own city was awesome.
* Let me share just a few of the comments people shared with me as they were walking out:
      - "I've never experienced a worship service like this before and I've been in church all my life."
      -  "This place can't hold what God has in store for you."
      -  "__________ was my son who was baptized and I can't thank you enough."
      -  "God is all over this place, I could feel Him moving."
      -  "This was my first time but I can promise you I'll be back."
* I could continue but this gives you an idea of what people were saying.
* By the way, we set another all time high attendance record despite the awful weather.
* At the end of the message the opportunity to be baptized was given.  How I wish you could have looked into the eyes of the people
coming forward telling me they wanted to go public for Jesus and be baptized.  The tears flowing, the smiles beaming.  I feel certain
Jesus was pleased with what took place in our building and in the hearts of so many of his children.
* It took courage for so many people to stand in such a large crowd and walk forward.
* At least 20 plus people raised their hands saying they had repented, been saved but never baptized.  I will do exactly as I said,
I will begin praying God will make them miserable in the hearts until they have to come forward or truly get saved.
* As we sang the closing song I was overwhelmed with joy yet realized just how much we still had to do.
* I came home, ate and went to bed.  Slept until I was woke up to watch the snow.  And how it snowed.
* We went to Fiesta to eat and the drive was breath taking.  Snow flakes the size of quakers.
* Getting ready to take the family snow tubing.
* Meeting with the staff at 4:00 for a family dinner/staff meeting.

One last thing.  I have never changed a message or series once planned.  But, this Sunday I will.  We are not starting PMS, the man
series until week after next.  You want to be there this Sunday.  I can promise you God has big plans in store for all of us.  You will be challenged to .......... See you Sunday
