March 5, Busy time
I just got back from working out. Lifted and ran a couple miles. Really want to see 280 real soon. On the way back I saw a mid aged man walking. Turned around, went back and asked if he needed a ride. He was all smiles. He'd been walking for a while and no one had offered him a ride. Once again, he was leaving from the jail house. I know that doesn't seem very civilized......more about that on Sunday. By the way, Sunday is finally done. Finished it just a little while ago. I promise you, you will be challenged this Sunday. Bring an unchurced friend with you and come prepared to be rocked.
To say things are hopping around here would be an understatement. Just a very busy time for us. Here are some of the things you have the opportunity to be involved in:
1. Unleashed - This is a one day leadership conference hosted by New Spring in Anderson. This takes place next Thursday and we still have two tickets left. If you'd like to go, let us know.
2. Fireproof weekend get away - As of now we have 28 couples heading to Bonclarken on Friday, March 20th for a very special time of worship, fellowship and private time between couples. I am really looking forward to getting away and hanging out with these couples. Dinner is at 6:00 in their cafeteria.
3. Volunteer Banquet - On Saturday, March 21st we're hosting our first annual Volunteer Banquet. I realize this is on the same day the couples will be returning but this only effects a few couples. We'll meet at Sho's in Easley and have an incredible meal along with a video and a bunch of other fun things. Just a way of saying thank you to all our incredible volunteers. Don't get mad if your not invited, that just means you don't help do anything around here. Get involved and you'll get to come next year.
4. Fasting/worship/Lords Supper - On Wednesday, April 1st I'm asking everyone that will to fast with me. (No kidding - no April fools)
I believe if hundreds of us came together fasting on the same day God would be pleased. We'll come together that evening with an awesome time of worship with our band in our theater. We'll pray over our Easter Egg drop that Saturday and Easter Sunday. I truly believe we have the opportunity to see 1,000 people gather here for worship on Easter Sunday. We'll be starting our third worship service that morning also.
5. Easter Egg drop - On Saturday, April 4th we'll be attempting to drop 500,000 eggs from hot air balloons onto soccer fields filled with children. This will take place from 3:00 - 6:00 at the J. B. Owens complex. There are 5 soccer fields that we'll be using to put different age groups on. We'll also be giving away hot dogs, drinks, cotton candy, snow cones and have 10 inflatables for the kids to play on. We need a bunch of volunteers for that day. Please make plans to come and help love on the people of our community.
6. Easter Egg stuffing - We are filling every egg we receive with a piece of candy. We have three ladies down stairs right now stuffing eggs but need A LOT more help. If you can come by the church, please let us know.
7. BUY EGGS - We need more eggs. The church found eggs for 3 cents a piece. Cheapest we've found anywhere. So to keep you from having to go out and buy them we bought $2,000 worth. You can just donate to the church or go and buy your own. Either way, we need more eggs!
I think this will help to let you know why it is so busy around here. I am so excited about everything God id doing. I'm convinced this Sunday is going to produce some real life change! See you then.
