March 16, Thoughts on Sunday

What an awesome day at 5 Point.  I am over whelmed with what God is doing.  A few of my thoughts:
* Woke up early to study and pray and heard the rain coming down.
* As I drove to church it was raining even harder.
* Was prepared for a very low attendance.
* Told God if 50 people showed up I was going to preach the gospel with great passion & fervor.
* I was completely blown away by what happened here yesterday morning.
* Our attendance was down some but not a lot.  Those who wanted to worship Jesus showed up.
* Worship was incredible.  I purposely spoke shorter so we could have a longer time of worship.  Great job guys.
* Good to see Andre Aiken on the stage again.  She adds so much life on the stage.  The girl can sing to!
* When worship is incredible it makes opening God's Word and teaching it even more powerful.
* I spoke on the power each of us have and how we use it.
* 8 people stood up in front of every one during the second service and gave their life to Jesus.
* 7 people did it after the message.  I felt God saying do it again and one man stood all by himself and prayed the sinners
prayer. I believe he truly wanted to know Jesus.  I've never gave a second invitation before.  Truly felt God speaking to me.
* That stuff JACKS ME UP!  I went home truly overwhelmed.
* After I closed us in prayer people just started clapping.  Thats never happened either.  I think people are getting excited
about what God is doing here.
* After the service a gentleman said to me, "Do the people here understand what God is doing here?"  I've been to churches
with thousands in attendance and not seen 8 people stand & get saved, much less with under a thousand."
* Saw a lot of tear stained eyes walking out.  Not emotion, but conviction.
* Giving continues to be great.  Just another example of true life change.
* Saw a lot of new volunteers.

Couple other thoughts:
* Had over 40 of us stuffing eggs on Saturday.  Thank you everyone.  We have over 80,000 eggs stuffed.
* We still need more candy and eggs.
* Have a very busy week this week:
    - preparing for Sunday morning
    - preparing for our Fireproof get away
    - preparing for our volunteer banquet this Saturday night.
* Please pray for me as I prepare for all these events.
* Getting ready to start staff meeting.  Our staff rocks.
