March 26: Guest Blogger Ann

Hey 5 Point…….Ann Durham here. Dean asked me to be his guest blogger today. What a treat. The main thing he asked me to speak about is the 1 year anniversary of my employment here at 5 Point. What a ride it has been, to say the least!

Here are a few of the things that I have experienced:

Life Change: WOW…..Not only have I experienced more life change in a closer walk with my Lord and Savior, but I’ve seen true life change in others. With so many people coming to Christ, being baptized and making things right with their spouses and their family. Making friends through Home Groups and learning to become debt free through classes. I have wiped away more tears in the past year than ever watching life change happen right before my eyes. In March we baptized 34, almost as many as we baptized all last year. Now that’s true life change.

Volunteers:  WOW again, we’ve had record numbers of people sign up to volunteer for a variety of opportunities and use their talents and resources to welcome and love on people every Sunday morning as well as during Outreach Events. Team Leaders have been absolutely awesome in helping coordinate it all. And prayers were answered when Volunteers rallied to help in the office area. It’s not the just staff that makes our church such a great place to come and worship, it’s the volunteers. We could not do it with out you. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!! Continue to be committed and contagious for the Lord!!! Through the Lord, Dean has asked me to step out of my box more times that I care to admit, if you’re not serving I challenge you to step out of yours. You will not regret giving a little of yourself back to serve others.

Staff: Oh, my gosh! What can I say about these guys? Being allowed to work with such a great group of people has truly been an honor and blessing. In all of my working years I have never worked with a group that is so dedicated to the task at hand of revealing who Christ is. They not only tell others about Christ, but showing them Christ through their lives and actions. Even though we disagree from time to time, I know each of us has the others back, no matter what. The support and teamwork that happens here is for real. If one stumbles or needs help, we lift each other up, not just in work, but in life issues. I love each and every one of them dearly and hope God allows me the honor of working with them until He decides to carry me home. I love you guys!!!

God is blessing the socks off of 5 Point and I pray often that we do not allow ourselves to think that it is us making 5 Point grow to the size we have become, 600+ in 4 years. Guys that is unheard of! Remember we are doing this for God’s Glory. I pray that he keeps us humble and uses ME, uses all of us, all of 5 Point to glorify his kingdom. I pray he continues to give us hiccups (problems) until we get it right. 5 Point, Thank you all so much for the church you are, the church we are becoming and allowing me to be a part of it. It’s truly been an honor and pleasure to work and service with you all!!!

I can sum it all up in one word…………….WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
