April 6, Thoughts on Sunday

Yesterday was a little different.  Started with our usual high energy song but only sang one worship song because  I knew God had laid A LOT on my heart.  I shared vision like I have never done before.  I opened my heart and was very transparent about the direction of this church and the vision God has so heavily laid on my heart.  The results were amazing.
* People weren't sure how to respond to the band singing Highway to Hell.
* We discussed the blind man Jesus healed in John 9.
* Looked at it through a different set of lenses.
* Wanted people to understand we can never take our eyes off the miracles being done here and get set in tradition.
* Response after both services was incredible.
* Could have been one of the most draining messages I've ever taught.  Went home and slept from 1:00 - 4:00.  Nap was awesome.
* 8 people stood in front of everyone and accepted Christ as their Savior.  WOW!  NEVER get tired of this.
* Singing Amazing Grace after the message really spoke to me.  I will never forget having my chains broken on April 12, 1987.
* During a time of economic troubles, we set another all time giving record.  God is recession proof.  When people begin to fall in
love with Jesus they will make Him their first priority.  It will take money to win this city for Jesus.
* Kid Zone had 200 plus again.  Amazing to see so many kids.  Amazing to see what God is doing over there.
* Set an all time high in the first morning service.  Had a ton of visitors.  I'm sure a bunch were from the egg drop.
* Set another all time attendance record for both services combined.
* It will be packed next Sunday for Easter.  Who are you inviting?
* I promise you Sunday morning is going to be amazing.
* Begging God for 150 salvations.  It can happen!
* Every Sunday see more people serving and I absolutely love it.
* Had a man tell me after the second service he had come expecting a different style service but had no idea it would be like what he
had just experienced.  He then went on to guarantee me that he'd be back next Sunday.  Way too cool.
* Children pick up went a little smoother.
* I asked our people what would they do if every seat was taken next week and someone shouted, "stand up."  People are starting to
get it.  This church is not about them, it is all about reaching people for Jesus.
* The transition between the two services was congested, my fault.  I spoke too long.
* I am over whelmed at what God is doing.  But, I believe there is A LOT better still to come.

Thoughts about Sunday night:
* I hung out with our youth tonight in their service.
* Dwain did an awesome job speaking to the kids.
* Jeremy Bigham has formed a band and leads the youth in worship.
* Leslie Aiken flat tore up Hosanna.  She will be singing on the adult side from now on.
* Had a bunch of youth here.  So awesome to see so many teens.
* Went to Frankie's Fun Park after the service and rode go carts.  It was a stinking blast.  Spinning out teens will probably never get
old to me.  My wife says I need to grow up.
* Was exhausted by the time I got home.  Showered and jumped into bed around 11:30.  Slept great!

Some random thoughts:
* During our staff meeting today we discussed how to make the egg drop even bigger and better.  Already looking forward to next year.
* I'm so excited about this Sunday.  Begging God for the exact message people need to hear.
* Some men have been working on the stage all day preparing it for this Sunday.
* Please pray with me that God does something GOD SIZEd this Sunday.
* Are you inviting unchurched friends and family? Best Sunday of the year to get someone to come with you.
* I hope Corey has a video ready for me sometime tomorrow with footage of the egg drop.
* Our next community project is coming up in May.  Were bringing Joe Sangle into town to help people learn how to get out of debt.
And yes, all of it will be free.  Just another way to let the community know we love them.
* Sometime this spring were going to have a tennis shoe Sunday.  We'll meet here for a time of worship and then head into the
community to help with numerous projects.  We'll meet back at the church for a meal and a time to share.
* Gotta have another baptismal soon after Easter.
* Enough for today.  Getting ready to head home and hang out with my boys.
