April 21, Wedding Anniversary

There you have it.  Jerry Dean Herman standing 6'6" and weighing in at 230 pounds.  That was a lot of pounds ago.
Deborah Jean Stallard, standing at 5'2" and weighing, I know better.
This was our senior prom.  King and queen.  You gotta admit, the yellow tux is awesome!

That was over 30 years ago and the two of us have been though so much together.  12 moves, three kids, two grand children and a career change from teaching school into the full time ministry. It is nothing short of A God thing that Debbie is still a Herman.

Just a little history about our relationship for those who care.  I asked Deb out on a dare and she turned me down.  I took it very personal.  I told my buddies she would go out with me.  (By the way, I won the dare!)  I began pursuing Debbie every way I knew how.  We had a couple of classes together and lunch so I saw her a good bit.  I called, wrote letters, stalked her, whatever it took.

She broke up with the piece of crap she was with and fell head over heels in love with me.  Through the course of stalking her I couldn't stop thinking about her.  I actually told one of my friends she would be the woman I married during the chase.  Our first date was a double date at McDonald's and a movie.  I actually got a little kiss on the front porch.  And you know the saying, "the rest is history."

I love Deb twice as much today as I did back in High School.  People seldom get to know her because of my dominating personality and she is very happy with that.  Nothing makes Deb happier than hanging out with the family.

Thank you Debbie for being such an awesome wife, Mom, Na Na(Grand Ma) and partner in the ministry.  I am convinced the best years of our marriage are yet to come.  Love you!
