July 13, Thoughts on Sunday
What an awesome day of worship at 5 Point Fellowship yesterday. Some of my thoughts on the day:
* The best way to start is by sharing that we have 8 new believers in Jesus Christ. 8 adults stood and accepted Jesus! YES!
* Tim and the band did an awesome job, especially since I asked them to change up the style and format. Tim sang a slow solo to start the morning and built up the energy form that point. To hear hundreds of people singing with hands raised was incredible.
* Andrea finished the day by nailing a Miley Cyrus song (The Climb).
* We set an all time July attendance record.
* Had numerous visitors, in the summer. Met two couples who came due to our 4th of July event. Both bragged on the event and how much they enjoyed their worship experience. Guaranteed me they would be back.
* The Kid Zone broke the 200 mark. That is bunch of children learning about Jesus.
* Our Kid Zone volunteers rock. They help make 5 Point what it is. It takes a special breed to work with children.
* I always enjoy seeing our greeters outside loving on people.
* Something really cool is seeing people who I haven't seen in a few weeks due to vacations and me being gone during June.
* One of the key statements in the message was, "The way we live our days is the way we live our lives."
God gave me a personal word during preparing last week, "Dean, your loudest and most important message is your daily life."
I love teaching the Bible, but I can never forget my daily life is speaking volumes.
* Not sure how many people made a 40 day commitment, but there were hundreds. Committed to reading their Bibles, praying and tithing for the next 40 days.
* We took in $2,500 for 5 Point of Tabora. That now gives us $5,000 for the chairs.
* 5 Point of Tabora sat in chairs yesterday for the first time. That is so stinking cool.
* Went home yesterday and had lunch with the family and slept until 4:00. I love Sunday naps.
* Home group at 6:00 pm. I love my group. We talk about every day things and how God should be the center of everything.
Some other thoughts:
* Dwain seems to be doing better. Please pray for him. He had kidney stones and is recovering at home.
* I'm leaving in just a few minutes and heading to Virginia to speak at a youth camp all week. Be coming home Saturday morning.
Already have the meat of Sunday finished. Doing something this Sunday I've never seen done before.
* I'll try and blog through out the week form the camp. Pray with me for revival to break out among the teens.
* Taking Tim, Corey, Daniel and Jeremy with me. Basically the band. It is a great week hanging out together.
* Tuesday night after the service were heading to a local steak house to plan out a bunch of services.
* Gotta hit the road, four plus hours of driving in front of us. After the 40 plus hour track to Africa, this ain't nothing.
