July 14, Bunch of thoughts

Just finished the morning session at Camp Bethel.  Taught the students about prayer.  Used Jesus Christ example of teaching found in Luke.  We know it as the Lords Prayer.
P - praise
R - repent
A - ask
Y - yield

Last night I shared my testimony so the teens would know more about me and my back ground.  This evening I'll be teaching the same message as Sunday morning, doing the little things right.  Wednesday evening and Thursday morning we'll be addressing the hot topic of sex.  Really looking forward to what God has in store.  Praying for God sized things to happen.  Band did a great job of leading worship as usual.

Bunch of thoughts:
* On the 220 mile drive from home to Virginia I thought a lot about our church and future.  We'll turn 5 in September.
Here are a few of those thoughts-
    a. Are we exactly where God wants us at this point in our journey?   We are running 600 - 700.  Is that good, bad, what?
    b. We have an awesome staff.  Never thought I'd have such a great group around me.
    c. Seen a lot of Life Change but desire to see so much more.
    d. The number of people and families who have left.  Many I was ecstatic about leaving and some heart broken.
    e. What do the next 5 years hold for us.
    f. What can I do different and better to help lead our church to another level?
    g. Still can't believe what is taking place in Africa.
    h. We need another building.  Our foyer area and children space is stunting our growth.
    i. Am I holding us back in any areas?
    j. We need more singers
The list could go on but you can see what is racing through my mind as I pulled a trailer full of sound equipment and suitcases through the mountains of NC, Tenn, and VA.
* Deb is going to shop this afternoon with her Mom and sister.  Glad they get to spend this time together.
* Meeting with the band tonight after the service to plan out Sunday worship for weeks to come.
* It was only 60 degrees this morning as I headed to the camp.  Beautiful weather.
* Getting ready to go and work on Sunday morning.  I'm already excited about this Sunday.  I'm convinced some real life change will take place.  I've begun asking and expecting God sized things every Sunday.
* This fall we'll be adding an opportunity for people to dig deeper into God's Word sometime during the week.  More to come later.
* Worked out hard yesterday and plan on doing the same today.  Trying to watch everything I eat.  The battle of reaching 280 continues.  I can promise you, I hate trying to lose weight.
* Let me ask you a personal question, are you hanging out with Jesus?  Are you reading and praying?  For the hundreds who made that commitment Sunday, praying for you!
* Have a great day and do something radical for Jesus.
