July 16, Life at camp
The past couple of days has been incredible. We have seen God do some amazing things. Let me share some thoughts with you:
* God has brought 16 teenagers into his family. I love seeing people come to know Jesus.
* Wednesday morning ten stood and accepted Christ.
* Tonight 6 more surrendered their life to Jesus.
* Tim, Corey, Daniel & Jeremy have done an amazing job in leading worship. Very powerful to say the least.
* Spoke on the topic of sex Wednesday night and this morning. I held nothing back. Was as frank and honest as I've ever been.
I've already had a young couple (17 & 16) admit they will have a baby in 6 months. Heart broken for them. Another young man admitted to being addicted to porn and masturbating every day for two years. The altar was full of teens and some of their counselors. Life change took place.
* There are 150 here. Not sure how many but ALOT made commitments to read and pray for 40 days. Taught the same message from this past Sunday, doing the little things right. Never ceases to amaze me the number of people who claim to know Christ yet seldom or never pick up their Bible.
* Discussed Satan and his job description this evening. I could tell the majority of people were oblivious of who he really is and what he is doing.
* On Tuesday and Wednesday I hung out at the lake with the teens and counselors all day. Legs are sore from all the volleyball and blobbing. I'll show you a video next week. It is incredible. I jump off a high dive onto a massive balloon in which a teen is sitting on. I promise you some were 30 feet in the air. Amazing how hanging out with teens always builds a relationship and they can better trust you. Something I've always enjoyed as a camp speaker.
* I've been blown away by the number of students, counselors and youth pastors who have thanked me for being so honest and frank. Makes me wonder what so many pastors are teaching.
* Lawson shared his testimony this morning on how he was a virgin when he married. The students were glued to him.
* Tomorrow morning I'm talking about complaining. Message from two weeks ago and tomorrow night is about courage.
* Continue to beg God for even bigger and better things to happen.
* Thank you Lord Jesus for the calling on my life which enables me to see so many life changing decisions!
Some other thoughts:
* Andrew tuned 21 today. Told me he wanted to go and buy a beer just because he could. So much like his Dad.
* Played golf today with Tim, Lawson & Andrew in Kentucky. Had a blast.
* Were leaving tomorrow night after the service. Get home around 1:00 or 2:00 am. Want to enjoy the weekend and rest. I'm beat.
* Wrestled with Hudson today for over an hour. I love my Grand sons so much.
* It was 59 here yesterday morning and a high of 79. Feels incredible.
* Can't wait for Sunday. Changing things up again in worship and doing something different with the message.
* I believe we'll see some major life change Sunday also.
* I doubt I get a chance to write again until thoughts on Sunday.
* Going to bed, wore out!
