July 20, Thoughts on Sunday

Thoughts on Sunday:
* Begin with great news.  Several adults admitted they didn't have a life changing story and walked to the back and gave their life to Jesus.
* That makes everything we did well worth it.
* For some reason I didn't feel as if today was as good as usual. Not real sure why.
* The worship wasn't bad just seemed a little boring.  But to someone else it might have been great.
* Thought Curtis did a good job with, "Where I Come From."
* The past few weeks people have been locked onto every word.  Didn't feel that today.  Some of that could have been the topic.
Anytime you ask people to get out of their box and begin sharing Jesus, some automatically cut the switch to off.
* We were down 50 people from the week before.  Have no clue why?
* Another really good positive, A LOT of people are keeping up with their 40 day commitment to read and pray.
* In the first service 25 - 30 people committed to sharing their story (testimony) to someone this week.
* In the second service 60 - 70 people committed to share also.
* A discouraging note, if you have a story, why wouldn't you want to share what Jesus has done in your life?
* Last week it was really hot in the auditorium.  Reason, only one of the two cooling units was running.  Problem was fixed and both
units were running today.  Had some say they were cold.
*Let me encourage everyone (if you attend 5 Point or not) to take the time to share their story with someone this week.
* Shared with everyone that I'd be teaching how to lead someone to Jesus Sunday night.  Not a very big crowd but those who came truly wanted to be taught.  REALLY COOL, a young man gave his life to Jesus while Ashley practiced sharing on him.  WOW!
* The youth left for camp right after the service.  Dwain text me earlier and said God had already begin moving.  Look forward to talking to him and hearing what God is doing.  Already begun praying for God to do BIG things.
* Anita, Dwain's wife, had a flat as the youth were getting ready to leave.  Some men changed it for her and got her rolling again.
* Please pray for the youth this week that God sparks a revival in them.

Bunch of other thoughts:
* The children left this morning for camp also.  A bunch of happy parents running around this week.
* The children went to Camp Marietta.  Prayed for God to speak to their young and tender hearts this morning also.
* I know that Deb and I are having date week.  I've already planned out our evenings Monday - Thursday.  Jacob home on Friday.
* The band and I had planned on coming home on Friday evening, but the candle light (open mic) went 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Teen after teen sharing their hearts.  Some VERY powerful stuff said.  We ended up staying another night and coming home early Saturday morning.  Incredible week, but more than ready to get home.
* When we left Virginia it was 57 degrees.  At home it was 85.  Won't be seeing 57 around here anytime soon.
* Getting ready for staff meeting.  Trying to plan out weeks in advance.
* Deb and Michelle just got back from dropping off the children, gotta go to staff meeting.
* Here is the outline from Sundays message so you can prepare your story:
     1. My life before Christ  -  Acts 9:1-2
     2. My life changing story  - Acts 9:3-19
     3. My life after Christ  -  Acts 9:19-22
