July 23, Fun at camp
Any time I speak at a camp I always enjoy just hanging out with the kids. I played volleyball, swam and blobbed teens for hours. I'm under the belief that teens will open up and share their hearts when they know your just another person. One of the few advantages of weighing 300 pounds is that you can send people flying on the blob. Check out just a few of the many teens I sent flying.
Some things I'm praying through:
1. Getting ready to meet with Greg Powell at the Easley rec. department about our Easter egg drop next year. Actually, I had to leave while writing this. We got the entire complex for next years egg drop. Meeting went great. Burl can begin planning now for a bigger and better drop. 20,000 will be our goal. We spent $11,000 last year and will spend more next.
2. Our permanent church home. Really want God to show me exactly where He wants us. I continue to beg for the existing Wal-Mart building. I'm not giving up on it until God shuts the door.
3. This Sunday. I believe Sunday will see many changed lives. Can't wait.
4. Youth got home from camp today. Dwain said things went great. I'm going in the morning to get the children. Prayed every morning for all of them.
5. Continue to pray for the ones who made a commitment to read, pray and tithe for the next 40 days.
6. 5 Point of Africa. Spoke with Renatus yesterday. They have 50 plus to be baptized. He is going to make an offer on the land. Through so many of you we have now raised $6,000.
7. Revival to begin breaking out in the hearts and lives of our people.
8. Me, I so desire to be in the center of God's Will and take this church to another level of faithfulness.
9. Our staff.
10. My wife and children. No one understands the pressure, stress and spiritual warfare a pastors family goes through.
Couple of other thoughts:
1. Jason Porter did get the job at Duke making more money than he ever has. Faithfulness pays off.
2. I can't believe our 5th birthday is right around the corner.
3. Really seeking God about a couple of new series. Wanting to teach Jesus, Jesus and Jesus.
4. High School football practice starts next week.
5. Date night tonight has been changed. Were just staying home, watching a movie and chilling. Been out of the house all week .
Really looking forward to it.
