Sept 10, BUSY
To say that its busy around here is an understatement. We are rocking in preparation for this Sunday. Message is done and we'll have a walk through at 1:00 today. Tim and the band practiced last night, Corey finished the stage for our auditorium last week and finished the Kid Zones yesterday. Dwain has been full speed getting ready for Ignite and Michelle is trying to be ready for the hundreds of children that will be here Sunday. Ann has had people here all week making calls, stuffing envelopes, mailing invitation post cards etc. I love it.
Now if we see people get radically changed for Jesus this Sunday every bit of this effort will be worth it.
You can help make Sunday everything that it can be also:
1. PRAY - pray for the people your bringing, for the 100 salvations were begging God for and pray for me as I teach God's Word.
2. Invite - to see 100 people come to know Jesus we need a lot of people here.
3. Park across the street or behind Robinson's allowing our guest to have the closest and best parking.
4. Talk to people you don't know, not just friends. Make visitors feel very welcomed.
5. Scoot into the middle of the aisles. No reason to make people crawl over you.
6. Sit towards the front. First timers don't want to sit up front.
7. If you see someone looking a little lost, ask them if you can help in any way. Remember what it felt like your first time here.
8. Make some phone calls this weekend inviting friends and family.
9. Pass out the invitation cards. People are searching, give them a reason to come.
10. Be here early to help cut down on the mad rush a few minutes before the service.
11. Eat your donut and head on into the auditorium. Our foyer gets so crowded right before the service it could actually scare people.
12. Allow visitors to pick up children before you after both services.
13. Don't leave until last song is done. Only people who do this is our regulars. Set the example. Restaurants will be open when you get there and this allows others to pick up children first.
14. Please be patient signing in and picking up children. No idea how many will be here. Could take a few minutes.
Couple of other thoughts:
* Doing a wedding tomorrow evening. Should be fun.
* Leaving in a couple of minutes to have lunch with Eddie Cox, pastor of Marathon.
* Really believe I'll be under 290 for the first time this Sunday. Gotta have a good weekend.
* Study for next week is done and I'll finish writing the message in the morning.
* I am so jacked up about this Sunday. Haven't been sleeping much. Gotta get some rest.
* Can't believe we'll be 5 years old this Sunday!
