Oct 19, Thoughts on Sunday

Some of my random thoughts about yesterday:
* Yesterday was not a fun message.  Anytime you ask Americans to hurt a little it doesn't go over well.  But the truth is, if were living for Jesus, trouble will follow us.
* Everyone was latched onto every word.  I could tell people were thinking hard about their own walk.
* I said from the get go, not everyone would make it through this series.  Hope I'm wrong.
* Worship was great.  Leslie did an awesome job.  Guys played great as always.  We still need another male worship leader to help Tim.  Don't want him to wear out his voice.
* Had numerous decisions.  Altar was full of people in both services.  Life change took place and that always excites me.
* Spoke to several visitors.  Told me they loved it and would be back.
* Kid Zone was rocking again today.  I walked through during worship in second service.  Kids are having fun as they learn about Jesus.  Wish I would of had something like this when I was growing up.  Might not of hated church so badly.
* Dwain told me they had 80 teens last night at youth.  That is incredible.  Dwain and the youth volunteers are doing a great job.
Dwain has been here a little over a year and the youth have more than doubled.  Close to tripling.
Dwain discussed addiction to porn last night.  He is hitting them with subjects they truly need.
* I helped with the funeral of Mike LaVigne at 4:00.  Hard to say good-bye to someone so young.  Only 58.  But in a much better place now worshiping Jesus.  Told him to say hello to Jesus for me.  He squeezed my hand.

Some other thoughts:
* Halloween weekend is almost here.  We need more candy.  We'll have thousands of people come through.
* Have you signed up to help.  Still not to late.  Call Ann at the church, 850-0580.
* Next Africa meeting will be Wednesday, October 28th.  Pastor Renatus will be here himself to lead the meeting.  He is in Dallas right now but will flying into South Carolina on the 28th.
* To those who continue to give $1.00 a day to our African church plant, THANK YOU!  We will build a great church very soon.
* We still have empty seats.  Continue to invite friends and family.  Never get complacent.  We'll go to three services when needed.
* Ugly Truth marriage series will begin in January.  Gonna be fun.
* Conclude series with a weekend get away for all those interested on Valentine weekend.
* Praying through doing another question/answer series.  People really enjoyed that last year and we had some awesome questions.
* Have to weigh in again tomorrow morning.  Dread it.  But I have already lost some weight.
* Good to see Tigers have a big win.  Need this weeks game against Miami.
