March 29th, Thoughts on Sunday and more

What a weekend for 5 Point Church.  The egg drop was incredible.  I'll share a bunch of thoughts and pictures about it tomorrow.  Yesterday we started our third service.  I was very pleased with how everything  turned out.
Some of my thoughts on the day:
* I want to begin by thanking the countless volunteers who worshiped in the first service and served in the second and third.  What incredible devotion toy our Lord and church.  Thank you so much guys.  You are awesome!
* I'm convinced we're ready for whatever God has in store for us next week.  What I mean by that is for the first time in our history we're ready for God to pack this place out.  The Kid Zone is prepared, our first impressions team is prepared, we now have seats in the main auditorium; we're ready.
* We have to continue to do our part so invite like crazy this week.
* And remember, if we don't invite them others sharing lies will.
* Thought all three services went extremely well.
* We had 820 people in attendance on a cold and rainy Sunday.  The Sunday Spring Break started for our schools.  Great momentum going into Easter Sunday.  People are more inclined to come Easter Sunday than any other Sunday, take advantage of it.
* The band did an awesome job.  Love worshiping with these guys.  I'm convinced they love Jesus more than being on a stage.
* Tim sang "Beautiful" by Phil Wickham and it was incredible.
* A woman gave her life to Jesus during the second service.  That is why we do what we do.
* Seeing people baptized during all three services, in the middle of the service was way too cool.
* Spoke about being upset.  Isn't it amazing what people are upset about in America's churches?  Color of carpet, music too loud, temperature of room, membership, pastor topics but never about their community dying and heading to hell.
* 5 Point, lets get upset with the devil making progress way too fast.  Lets get upset that people are going to hell and were not doing a lot about it.  Lets get upset that we pray bless me instead of use me.
* Handed out bottles for people to fill with change to dig wells for our African brothers and sisters.  PLEASE fill them asap.  And as I said yesterday, "I promise you 100% of the money will be used to dig wells and I will be there helping make sure it happens.

Some random thoughts:
*Can not wait for this Friday evening.  Celebrating the Lords Supper together.  Never done this on Good Friday before.  Doors will open at 6:30 and we'll begin worship at 7:00.
* So thankful to be a part of this church.  Jacked up about what God is doing here.
* I'm begging God that we will see salvations every Sunday.  I would love to baptize every Sunday  also.  Something about people seeing life change taking place in them every week.
* Leaving for Africa on May 31st.  Be gone for close to a month.  Never been gone form Deb that long.
* Still need some more money.  It will come.
* Every now and then you get the privilege of seeing a family "GET IT."  The Hendricks is one of those families.  When Megan had her baby last year she missed one Sunday.  The following Sunday all four of them were here and haven't missed since.  They serve this church faithfully.  They love Jesus and want to make him known.  Lawson and Michelle had the honor of baptizing their daughter yesterday and this morning I saw this video.  Asked Megan if I could put on my blog.  This is awesome!
