April 5, Thoughts on Easter Sunday

Sorry I'm a little late getting this out.  Been going full speed today and just haven't had a chance.

I am amazed at what happened yesterday at 5 Point.  Here are some of my thoughts on the day:
* A bunch of people gave their life to Jesus.  That is why we do what we do.
* 40 plus people raised their hands to accept Jesus as their Savior.  10 actually got up and went back to speak to a counselor.
* 7 children came forward and asked Jesus into their heart in the Kid Zone.  That is why so many adults put so much effort into our Kid Zone.  Lives are being changed.
* Next baptism is scheduled for May 20th.  Hope we have to have one before that.
* Worship was incredible.  The band was on their A game.
* Starting the message portion by singing "I wanna be a Rock Star" was awesome.  Really set up the message.
* Have heard countless remarks about our three services.  A lot of life change took place.
* People have shared they are trying to fill the holes in their heart with many things beside Jesus.
* Our volunteers really showed out.  Came to the 9:15 and served the other two services.  Thank you so much everyone.  You helped see people come to Jesus through your efforts.  Keep up the good work.
* Had over 300 in the Kid Zone.  That is a bunch of kids and volunteers.  WOW!
* Our foyer area is killing us.  So many people in such a small area.  God knows!  We must continue to make the best out of a bad situation.  At least we're not setting up every week like so many other churches.
* The card board testimonies were amazing.  To see so much life change displayed publicly jacked me up.
* Our first Easter service in 2005 at Pickens High School had 200 people.  Yesterday we knocked on the door of 1,000.
* To all of those who invited unchurched people, keep it up.
* I personally had several people tell me they would be there and not one showed up.  So discouraging.  But I won't stop inviting.
I remember what it was like not knowing Jesus and if it hadn't been for the persistence of some people, I might still be lost.
* Last year we had a good Easter attendance and then attendance dropped off.  Let's continue working hard to reach this city for Jesus.
* As I rested in my Lazy Boy following the services I was exhausted yet over whelmed.
* It has been a tough 5 years but I wouldn't trade one minute of it for anything else.
* Thank you 5 Point for allowing me to PAstor such an incredible church.
* I still can't believe God allows me to do this.

Here is a picture Corey just sent me.  I was taking people through the sinners prayer at this point.
In case you weren't there, the words on the cross say, "He did this for you."  The cross was brought out after all the card board testimonies.
