April 8, Tiger Woods

I had the opportunity to attend the Tuesday practice round of the Masters. Hadn't been there in close to 15 years. The scenery was breath taking as always. Spent most of my time in A-men corner. Sat at the par three and watched golfer after golfer come through.
There was a buzz in the air when someone said Tiger Woods was in the next group. People began to stand up and get their cameras out. I was curious as how the crowd would respond. As he came walking onto the tee the place went wild. I was shocked.
Yes he is the worlds greatest golfer, but after the past three months I thought the roar of the crowd might have simmered down a bit. Especially since I'd seen so many other golfers come though and all they got was a polite clap. A lot of the crowd didn't even have the courtesy to be quiet for other golfers while they swung yet when Tiger swung you could have heard a pen drop.
Not sure what I was expecting when Tiger came strolling along but it wasn't a standing ovation. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the guy who just slept with close to 20 women (that we know of) while being married. Isn't this the same guy who just got out of sex therapy? Then why is it when other great golfers who have kept thier penis in their pants and been faitful to their spouses and kids were barely noticed?
I'm convinced its because our country has become obsessed with sports figures, regardless of their off the course life style. I wish nothing but the best for Tiger Woods. My hope is that he falls head over heels in love with Jesus Christ and God uses him to draw millions to himself through Tiger. But I also pray that we as Americans wake up and realize that Jesus Christ is the only one who died on the cross for us. Tiger doesn't even like signing autographs much less die for you.
