May 20, Water for Africa

Couple of months ago we gave out close 300 bottles for people to fill with coins (or cash) with all monies going towards digging wells in Africa. Depending on the depth, it will cost anywhere from $3,00 - $5,000 a well. As of right now we have over 50 bottles on our stage.
This is a reminder that we need all bottles returned this Sunday. That will give us time to get the money counted (think we found somewhere to count it for us free-I was dreading rolling all those coins) and deposited. Our first well will be dug at the new church site. If money allows Pastor Renatus has some ideas for another.
Some have just wrote a check and placed it in the bottle. Some have been very creative in filling their jars. Example, took to work and set out. Others put all their poker money in it. Others asked all family members to donate.
Thanks to all who have helped the people of Tabora have something we all take for granted, water.
Some other thoughts:
* Just finished Sunday message. We're going to have a good time this week, promise!
* Sunday after next is baptism. Always enjoy that.
* Staff member Corey Miller and his wife had their first child yesterday afternoon. Everything went great. Congratulations guys!
* Only 11 days until I head to Africa. Spent a bunch of time in prayer yesterday about the trip. Starting to get really jacked up.
* I'm convinced the churches greatest days are in front of her and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it.
