Sept 9, Radical Prayers
5 Point Church has come to a point in which we must stop just praying and begin to pray RADICAL prayers. Let me explain the difference. Many of us pray those flippant prayers. The ones where we bless our meals. Ask God for safety for upcoming travels. We mean it when were praying there just isn't a lot behind them.
In scripture we find people praying RADICAL prayers. For instance:
In Luke 5:12 a leper is praying to be healed of his disease. You think he has a little more urgency to his prayer than, "There's the bread, there's the meat, thank God lets eat." I prayed for Mom to be healed of cancer to the point of tears many occassions. I was praying a RADICAL prayer at that time.
Luke 9:38 shares the story of a Father pleading with Jesus to deliver his sons from many demons. Any Father who has prayed for his child's salvation understands this Father's plea. There is a difference in praying for something and RADICALLY praying for something.
When Jesus was begging God the Father to "take away this cup" (in garden prior to crucifixion) you think it was just another prayer? Christ prayed to the point of bleeding form his pores. He was begging, pleading to the Father.
We have come to that point in our church. I am asking you to begin RADICALLY praying over some stuff with me.
1. This Sunday - begging God for over 1,000 in attendance and over 100 salivations.
2. What we will do next? The Colony theater can hold no more. Thinking and praying through a 6:00 pm service which would be identical to the morning services.
3. Looking at a building. Begging God for wisdom and guidance. This isn't just another prayer.
4. I am constantly pleading with God the Father to lead me exactly where HE wants me to lead us.
5. For Life Change. Regardless of what we do, I just want to see lives changes for His glory.
Begin pleading and begging God the Father with me please.
DON'T FORGET TO BRING A FRIEND SUNDAY. And remember:
* park across the street or at Robinson's
* lunch (BBQ) will be given to all who bring a friend and to the friend
* sit in the middle. This allows room for guests.
* come to first service at all possible. Open up seats for guests.
Can't wait to see what God is going to do!
