Sept. 21, Proud Daddy

I am in one of the craziest times of my life.  It is full speed at the church and the Herman household.  One of the few times Deb and I can just sit back and relax is while watching Jacob (our 11 year old) play football.  He is a very good football player and it brings me great joy  watching him beat on other 11 year olds.  Here are a few pics of Jacob playing ball:

This is Jacob on the bottom of the pile.  He is number 60.

Jacob has recovered a fumble in the last four games.  This one was actually for his
first touchdown.

Jacob is taking on two players.

Watching Jacob really does bring me joy.  He is my son and he is doing something I enjoyed greatly for many years.  There are times he might mess up or get a little lazy but I'm still proud of him regardless.

Something hit me the other day.  I feel certain God feels the same way with me.  He sees me doing what He created me for and He receives great pleasure through it.  I may mess up or get a little lazy but He is still proud of me.  Why, because He is my Daddy.
