Sept 27, Thoughts on Sunday

Another incredible day at 5 Point.  Some of my thoughts:
* I wish I could tell you why God is blessing 5 Point in such an awesome way but I don't know.
* I do know that Sunday after Sunday life change takes place.
* We saw people give their life to Jesus today. My prayer is that God the Father allows us to baptize EVERY Sunday.
* Worship was incredible today.  The band is always good but the spirit was moving today.  Hands were raised and people were singing to their Savior.
* After the first song I showed the progress of 5 Point Africa and we prayed for Richard.  I'm convinced that this set the stage for our service.  Anytime you see someone who has given up everything to serve Christ, it will get you to thinking.
* We concluded our Facebook series by asking people how much time they spend on line.
* From our own survey we saw that our people are on facebook for an average of an hour a day.  Yet many don't read or pray.
* Used the parable of the two sons found in Matthew 21.  Saw how one of the sons was distracted from doing God's work and compared that to the American Church.  We are DISTRACTED by many things.
* The invitation was AWESOME!  Hundreds of people stood and prayed out loud for God's forgiveness.  Asked God to help them remove the distractions and begin to put him first in their life.
* Continue to see visitors week after week.
* Was very pleased with the attendance especially with it raining so hard.
* The Kid Zone still has 250 with the rain.

Couple of other random thoughts:
* I will be doing 4 weeks of random messages.  No series, just things God has laid on my heart.
* On October 31st we will start a series called, "Satisfied?"  Much more on this later.
* I am praying through some MAJOR decisions.  could really use your prayers.
* The family and I are leaving Thursday evening for Virginia.  Will speak to my High School football team Friday night and watch the game with some old friends.  But we will be heading back on Saturday afternoon for worship at 5 Point.
* Hated to see the rain on Sunday but we sure did need it.
* Wanted to use this video during the Facebook series, but we just couldn't fit it in anywhere. Everyone have a great week and do something radical for Jesus!
