Dec 13, Thoughts on Sunday
I apologize for not writing yesterday. Was going 100 mph and never had a chance. Was up at 5:45 and didn't get home until 9:00 after Jacob's game. Blame the staff, we had an exceptionally long staff meeting. :)
None the less, another great day at 5 Point last Sunday. Some of my thoughts:
* We were in our fifth week of REVIVAL. Sunday was V - volunteering.
* Started the morning same way we have during this series, with prayer.
* The altar was full of people begging God to do great things among us.
* In the first service God really got all over a woman. She began screaming and moaning while she prayed. Personally, I loved it. I want to see God messing people up. But we knew it was scaring some others. Another staff member took her out and spoke with her.
* Jesus Christ himself said that His Fathers house would be called a house of prayer. Were going to be praying a lot more in the future.
* Message was geared at serving Christ through serving others.
* Being honest, serving others doesn't come easy for the American church. Most people are all about ME!
* Worship was awesome!
* Time of prayer was awesome!
* Message was, well Biblical anyway!
Can't wait for this Sunday when we look at how EVERYONE is needed to make our church what God wants it to be.
* AND, were doing some pretty creative stuff at beginning of service.
* Thank you Lord Jesus for all the amazing things your doing.
* Also want to thank all those who brave the long walk to make it to church.
* Since we lost our parking lot we have seen over 200 people not be here both weeks. Simply amazes me.
Some other thoughts:
* Just had lunch with Richard Johnson. Making plans for next Africa trip.
* January into February series is planned out. It is going to be one of our best ever.
* Remember, Christmas is always a great time to invite people.
* And remember we will be having our Christmas services on Christmas Eve at 4:00 & 5:30.
* In January we are doing a revamp of life groups. More on that later.
* Love and appreciate all of you. Gotta go.
