Dec 14, African Baptism

While in Africa I had the awesome opportunity of baptizing 8 people who had given their life to Jesus.  The African church really makes a big deal out of baptism, as they should!  Check out these pics:

5 Point Tabora doesn't have a baptistry.  Here is the pastor and church we baptized at.  The American was another pastor friend who went with us.  Jonathan Barbee.  This pastor was so proud to have us use his baptismal.

I am explaining baptism to the people.  Wanted to make sure they understood what they were doing.  Samuel was my translating for me.

Here is the baptismal we used.  Most Americans would refuse to even get into it.  Water is old and cold.  But my African brothers and sisterd did not care.  They just wanted to be baptized.

I stood as the people sat down Indian style in baptistry for baptism.

Spirits are high as we get ready to baptize.

Some other thoughts:
* Spoke with Africa yesterday.  Two more people gave their life to Jesus Sunday.
* They will be having their first worship service in the new building Christmas day!  Jacks me up.
* Will they ever finish the parking lot beside the Colony?
* Pray with me BIG TIME about new building.  Good things are happening.
* Had flat tire on Navi last night.  deb went to Ingles and back.  Found out today the side was slashed.  Can not fix.  Had to replace $200 tire that is relatively new.  Seriously?  Called life.
* Don't forget to invite friends on Christmas Eve.  4:00 and 5:30
