Jan 4, Never stop trying
One of the problems in the world today is everyone quits way toooooooo easy. Seems as if something doesn't work on the first or second try its over. I've come to find out that some things are worth fighting for. Some examples in my life:
* Debbie, now my wife of 31 years said no a couple of times before finally going out with me.
* Have asked hundreds of people to church and they didn't come. But years later saw some of them come to know Jesus.
* Had marriage counseling with couples who I thought had no chance. But after numerous sessions they are now happy as larks.
* Picked up countless hitch hikers and shared the gospel and not one has come to know Jesus yet. But I will keep on picking up and sharing.
* Tried to lose weight COUNTLESS times. Does that mean I should just quit or keep trying? Trying again as I write this. And by the way, diets are from the devil!
* Was told by everyone to give up on 5 Point Tabora. We would never win the court battles and now our church is thriving.
* And I was told I needed to quit striper fishing because I just couldn't seem to master it.
Last Friday we put 12 fish in the boat and I caught this 20 pounder with no help from anyone. Just me, my boat and fishing buddy. No guides or advice from anyone.

My point, just keep trying.
Now, lets be realistic. there are some things we really do need to let go. Ever watch the first few weeks of American Idol? Some of those people will never become stars. But these are the scenarios I'm talking about. I'm talking about those things in your life you know are from god. You know you can do. Well then, just keep trying.
Some other thoughts:
* GO TIGERS! Win another Orange Bowl 30 years later.
* Walked around property again today begging God for miracles. Who wants to start prayer walking with me?
* This Sunday we start, "Shocking Statements by Jesus Christ." The message is finished and I am pumped about what God is going to do. Bring a friend and come on. Ask them again, even if they have said no several times.
